Greene County was second on Thursday in a girls’ golf triangular at the TCI course near Polk City. The team from Nevada won the nine hole event with 182 strokes and the Rams were second at 210. NP had 238. Ram coach Heath Telleen reports his team is now 16-7-1, and he added, “We had a great night at TCI tonight. We shot one of our lowest scores of the season at the Tournament Club of Iowa.” TCI is widely considered one of Iowa’s top golf courses.
Greene County was led by a 44 from Rachael Danielson. Katelyn Hagen shot 50 with Nicole Rohner at 53, and 63 from Kaitlyn McColley.
Medalist and runner-up were both from Nevada. Claire Ausman shot 40 and Chloe Davis had 41.
Greene County wraps up the girls’ regular season Monday at Winterset.
The Greene County boys travel to the Atlantic Golf & Country Club today for a Class 3A Sectional Tournament.
