Numerous student-athletes from the Guthrie Center High School track team have qualified for the state competition after finishing in top two spots of their event Thursday night at Griswold, including Madison McDermott in the shot put and discus, Jennifer Foentes in the 400 meter run, Rachel Rumelhart in the 100 meter hurdles, Savana Fuller in the 200 meter run, the 4×200 meter relay of Rumelhart, Foentes, Fuller and Smith, Sprint Medley of Smith, Rumelhart, Fuller and Foentes and 4×100 meter relay of Foentes, Rumelhart, Smith and Fuller.

On the boy’s side, Sam Courtney qualified in the mile, as did the 4×800 meter relay of Courtney, Landon Foster, TJ Wickland and Logan Scheuermann.
