Wednesday, May 18th
A deputy was advised by a resident in the 1800 block of 283rd Street of a harassment concern.
Two deputies were advised by Union Pacific Railroad dispatchers of a train that was stopped near the Parkland Avenue crossing and experiencing a malfunction with the train whistle. A UPRR repair crew was dispatched to the location.
A deputy, Churdan Fire and Rescue, Jefferson Fire Department and Greene County Emergency Medical Services personnel were dispatched for a rollover truck accident at the intersection of 180th Street and I Avenue. A 1999 Mack flatbed straight truck owned by Landus Cooperative and being driven by Timothy Dale Cafferty 54, of Rockwell City, was southbound on I Avenue and attempting to turn onto 180th Street, when the truck rolled onto its side in the south ditch. The flatbed truck was hauling 2000 gallons of water for spraying purposes. Timothy Cafferty was transported to the Greene County Medical Center Emergency Room by Greene County EMS for further evaluation.
A deputy was asked to call a resident in the 100 block of Lovejoy Street in Rippey regarding the theft of a relative’s personal property.
A deputy was advised of debris on the roadway at 250th Street and W Avenue. The deputy could not locate any road hazards at that time.
A deputy while on routine patrol discovered an open door at the Lakeside Golf Course. The deputy secured the building and the door.
Thursday, May 19th
A deputy was dispatched for a car-deer accident on Highway 30 between Orchard and Pioneer Avenues. Brooke Michelle Cressler 24, of Fonda, driving a 1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo struck a deer as it ran onto the roadway causing major damage to her vehicle. Cressler was not injured in the accident.
A deputy and the Sheriff responded to the 400 block of Bell Street in Churdan to help mediate a verbal altercation between roommates.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
