The Dallas County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.
At the meeting, the Board approved a payroll change notice for an intern in the geographic information system department.
Certificates of appreciation for service milestones were then issued to Tori Long with the recorder’s office – 5 years, Rick Willadsen with the sheriff’s office – 10 years, Brad Kinzie from secondary roads – 10 years, Marcia McIlrath in the recorder’s office – 10 years, Stacie Ritchie with the attorney’s office – 15 years and Nate Bandy who has been with the secondary roads department for 15 years.
Space planning for the 902 Court Street building was then further discussed. Operations and Finance Director Rob Tietz says most of the architectural planning for the space is now complete and they’re waiting for a report on the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system.
The north campus projects also continue to move forward. Punch list items are being completed, exterior lighting at the parking lot is done and the contractor will be brought back in to level out the surface. The bulletproof window in the dispatch center still needs to be replaced and the County is waiting to hear from the company that will be replacing the current steal window with glass. Overall, Tietz says the space looks good and things are being put back together. Emergency Management Coordinator Barry Halling says he expects to move in to the new space around the Labor Day holiday. Additionally, Auditor Gene Krumm says his office is moving equipment into the new office space at the old Department of Human Services building this week and minor improvements continue to be made.
Furnishing quotes for the north campus were then reviewed. Halling shared the information, photos and prices he received from All Makes Office Interiors. The County plans to use a combination of existing furniture and components along with new elements. The proposed contract with All Makes comes at a cost of around $55,000 for the new furnishings. The Board plans to look into other options and no formal action was taken at the meeting.
