A local non-profit project received $7,000 in donations Monday night after being selected by the 100+ People for Perry.
The group’s second quarterly meeting took place at La Poste where they began by hearing from February’s grant recipient, Pastor Jeremy Winter with Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church. They received money for their Sleep Space project which provides bedding and blankets to local children in need.
Individuals representing three, randomly selected projects then spoke on behalf of their causes before the group chose to support Habitat for Humanity’s “Rock the Block” project. This provides a path for homeowners, organizations, volunteers and Habitat to come together and assist low-income residents who need help repairing, maintaining, weatherizing or beautifying their homes.
The group’s next meeting will take place Monday, August 23rd at 7pm at La Poste.
