voteFormer Dallas County Facilities Manager Eric Rose says there are several issues the Board of Supervisors needs to address, which is why he’s running for public office.

“We have to deal with keeping taxes in line, and part of that is under our control and part of it isn’t because the County Board is handed a budget that they need to deal with for things like school bonds and stuff like that.  So our total tax bill isn’t always determined by the Board but what the voters do in other areas.”

Rose also notes that it’s important for people in all parts of the County to come together, rather than divide.

“One thing I’ve come across in visiting with voters is the disenfranchisement that the north end of the county and the west end of the county feels. Because they feel that they’re not getting all the services and attention that the, frankly the southeast corner, is getting.  So that’s something that we need to work on.”

Rose, Mark Hanson and Doug Beavers are all vying for the Second District seat on the Board.

The Republican party’s nominee will be decided in the primary election next Tuesday.
