The ADM baseball team battled it out in their second straight Raccoon River Conference game last night taking on Bondurant-Farrar on the road.

The Tigers and the Blue Jays put on a very exciting game for the fans which started right out of the gate in the first inning. Cody Hokel and Jack O’Brian continued their hit streak, notching a hit in every contest so far as both earned singles in the first inning. Kade Overton officially started the scoring off for the game with his first inning RBI single, scoring Hokel. The Blue Jays would answer right back in their half of the second inning as Blue Jay third baseman Brandon Johnson recorded his first of two RBI’s on the night.

Johnson would push across his second RBI of the night in the bottom of the 4th putting Bondurant-Farrar up 2-1. ADM would answer right back in the top of the fifth as with the bases loaded catcher Sam McCartney came through with an RBI double to make it 3-2 followed by Hunter Gibson’s RBI ground out to put the Tiger up on top, 4-2.

The Blue Jays would volley right back in their half of that same fifth inning putting up three runs of their own. An error and a single to center started off the bottom of the fifth as Blue Jay RF Tanner Bedeir cleared the bases with his RBI double. He later crossed the plate himself after an RBI single two batters later putting Bondurant-Farrar up 5-4 heading into the sixth. It very well could have been 6-4 and Brandon Johnson’s third straight RBI if not for a cannon like throw out in Center Field by Kade Overton to nab the runner at home.

The Tigers tried their best to rally back and send the game into extras or an ADM win but only managed one run and despite out hitting their opponent for the second straight game, the Tigers fell in their second straight road game loosing by the final score of 5-4. Chase Ritchie pitched perhaps his best outing of the season going 6 strong innings with a pair of strike outs.

With the win the Blue Jays improve to 4-0 and perfect in the RRC while the Tigers fall to 2-3 overall; 1-2 in RRC play. The Tigers will be back in action tonight as they square off against the RRC’s other Blue Jay squad in Perry high school. You can catch that game on K107.9 or KDLS with first pitch scheduled for 7:30 pm.
