The Boone Toreadors scored five runs in the 4th inning to defeat Perry 9-2 in RRC action Thursday at the PAC. The Toreadors broke open what was a tight 2-1 game with the decisive 4th inning. Tanner Schminke finished with 2 hits and 3 RBI while Danny Anderson connected for 2 hits and a RBI. Evan Appenzeller kept the Perry bats off balance all night scattering 4 hits and 1 earned run. Janier Puente continued his strong hitting for the Bluejays going 2-4 with a RBI. Alexis Garrido and Kaleb Olejniczak provided the other hits. Puente took the loss on the mound allowing 8 hits and 7 earned runs in 4 innings. Kade Van Kirk pitched 3 scoreless innings out of the bulllpen. Perry falls to 1-5 and 1-1 in RRC play while Boone improves to 6-1 and 3-0 in RRC action. The Bluejays return to action tonight when they travel to Adel to take on ADM.
