Boone defeated Perry in Raccoon River Conference softball action Thursday night by a score of 4-2. The Toreadors never trailed leading 2-0 after the first inning and eventually scoring the game winning runs in the 5th inning breaking up a 2-2 tie. Dianna Slight scored on a passed ball giving Boone a 3-2 lead and Laura Anderson followed with a RBI single plating Lauren Calkins to give Boone a 4-2 lead.
Alyssa Kruger continued her hot stretch this week delivering a 2-out 2-run double providing the only Perry offense of the night. Kruger has hit safely in 5 of her last 7 at bats with 5 RBI during that span. She leads the team with 7 RBI’s on the season.
Johanna Diw and Rachel Kinney also had a pair of hits for Perry.
Emma Olejniczak tossed a complete game allowing 7 hits and 2 walks and 2 earned runs.
Perry falls to 3-4 on the season and 1-3 in RRC play and will return to the PAC Saturday morning for the Paul and Mary Ann Graves Classic when they play IKM at 9:45.
