Saturday looks to be a beautiful day for a car show and the Dallas County Sheriff’s office is looking to attract a large crowd at their 8th annual Special Olympics All Wheel Show.
Sheriff Chad Leonard says it’s an event that’s geared toward more than just your normal car show attendees.
“Participants get a ballot and they go and find their eight favorite vehicles and then we calculate that up by the number of votes. We let the Special Olympics coordinators come in and they do all that tallying for us and we figure out who is the top 20. Plus the long distance award and the most likely stopped by a cop award. Some of these awards the athletes get to go and pick out. So we have a Special Olympics trophy that the athletes present to their favorite car.”
The event starts at 10am on the square in Adel. The Raccoon Valley Radio Big Red Radio will be there broadcasting live and making announcements.
