
The unofficial primary election results are in for Greene County.
According to the Greene County Auditor’s office, Republican challenger Peter Bardole defeated Republican incumbent Guy Richardson for Supervisor District Five seat by 66 votes, 567 to 501. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that he is looking forward to serving the people of Greene County and wants to thank everyone for their support for the Republican candidacy. As for the contested Republican race for Sheriff, Jack Williams defeated Kirk Hammer with 752 to 339 votes.
The rest of the local races were uncontested. Republican incumbent for Auditor Jane Huen, Republican incumbent for Supervisor District One Mick Burkett and Republican incumbent for Supervisor District Four John Muir and Democratic challenger Todd Madson all ran unopposed in the primary.
As for the state races, Greene County voters chose Deb Duncan as their Democratic candidate for State Representative District 47 as she defeated George Ensley. Duncan will run against Republican incumbent Chip Baltimore, who ran unopposed. For State Senate District 24 it will be Republican incumbent Jerry Behn against Democratic challenger Keith Puntenney.

Republican incumbent Steve King defeated Republican challenger Rick Bertrand with 59 percent of the vote for US Representative District Four and he will be running against Democratic candidate Kim Weaver. Greene County voters elected Democratic candidate Patty Judge who defeated challengers Robert Hogg, Thomas Fiegen and Bob Krause for US Senate. Judge will run against Republican incumbent Charles Grassley.
The Greene County Auditor’s office reports that there was only a 20 percent voter turnout with 1,364 ballots cast of the 6,710 registered voters.
