It was hot and windy weather for the ADM softball team this weekend as they welcomed in 4 teams for a home tournament. The Lady Tigers welcomed in fellow Raccoon River Conference opponent Ballard along with Ankeny Centennial, Colfax-Mingo, and Van Meter high schools.

ADM had a productive tournament putting up three wins while suffering just their second loss of the season.  Their lone loss came early on in the tournament after squaring off against the Van Meter softball team. ADM senior pitcher Molly Jacobsen recorded her first loss of the season despite giving up just one earned run while striking out 10 but did have four walks issued for the game. Three ADM errors coupled with a few stolen bases allowed Van Meter to make the most out of just 4 hits as they pushed across three runs. The Lady Tigers would out hit the Bulldogs 6-4 but could only push across one run and leaving 8 on base as they fell to Van Meter 3-1.

The Lady Tigers would get back on the winning track with 3 consecutive wins against Ballard, Colfax-Mingo, and Ankeny Centennial. The Lady Tigers stormed back against conference foe Ballard thanks to Molly Jacobsen’s 7 inning no hit shut out of the Bombers. Jacobsen’s no hit performance was comprised of no walks and 17 strike outs giving her a perfect game under her belt for the season. Offensively all of ADM’s 5 runs were earned with the aid of three long ball home runs against the Bombers. Jacobsen continued her hit parade and was joined by Montana Popp, and Ashley Tennant as the three Lady Tigers to hit the ball out of the park. ADM would go on to win that game by the final score of 5-0.

The next two games were continuations of dominance for the Lady Tigers outhitting their next two opponents 20-3 with just two errors while out scoring their opponents 12-3 spun across two games. Molly Jacobsen continued to leave hitters off balance causing 19 swinging strike outs as part of 24 total across the final two games. The Tigers defeated Ankeny-Centennial by the final score of  3-1 and took down Colfax-Mingo by the final score of 9-2.

The Lady Tigers now sit at 16-2 as they head into their next week of action. First up for ADM will be a Raccoon River Conference rematch with Ballard high school in Ballard tonight. They Lady Tigers and the Lady Bombers will square off in Ballard with first pitch slated for 7:30.
