The longest road trips of the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference baseball and softball seasons are tonight for the Greene County teams when the Rams meet the PCM teams. The softball is in Monroe and the baseball is in Prairie City.

Both softball teams are 4-4 in the conference with the Rams winning the first meet last month in Jefferson by a score of 5-4. Coach Tom Kennedy’s team is 7-6 overall after winning 4-1 in Jefferson in their last game on Friday vs. Roland-Story (Story City).

Both baseball teams are under the .500 mark and their first meeting was also decided by a 5-4 score in Jefferson, PCM won that May 23rd contest. The Mustangs are 5-8 overall and 3-4 in conference play while Coach Mark Sawhill’s Rams are 3-7 on the season and 1-6 in the league, although the Rams have gone 2-2 in their last four games.
