A Rippey man was killed Wednesday in an ATV vs truck accident.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, at 2:55pm, 78 year-old Keith Devilbliss was traveling west on Howard Street, when he failed to yield to the right and his 2007 Honda 300 ATV hit a 2005 Ford F-150 pickup truck that was heading south on 2nd Street and was driven by 18 year-old Nicholas Rice of Rippey. The accident happened at an uncontrolled intersection.

Greene County Sheriff Steve Haupert tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the impact sent Devilbliss onto the windshield of the pickup and then he rolled onto the street.

Devilbliss was pronounced dead at the scene.

Greene County Emergency Medical Services, Rippey First Responders and Fire Department, along with the Greene County Sheriff’s office assisted at the scene.

Iowa State Patrol is in charge of the investigation.
