Heads up for those who travel on Highway 4 in Jefferson.
Road construction will begin today to install a driveway off of the highway and into the Greene County Development Corporation (GCDC) west business park that is south of Syngenta. Jefferson City Engineer John Milligan says Murphy Construction will be doing the work and there might be partial closures on the southbound lanes for part of the project.
Economic Development Director Ken Paxton says the duel driveway will hopefully help to sale their other two frontage lots in the business park.
“So they’ll have access to those two lots directly off of Highway 4. Those lots are going to be very appealing and I think they’ll go pretty quickly. We also have once again, some additional and farther in (lots) on the business park. But once the dental clinic is up and going and I think we’ll sale those frontage lots on Highway 4 very quickly, the park will start filling up.”
Payment for the project will be from the project account from GCDC.
The project is expected to last four weeks.
