There are a couple of youth programs coming up next week with the Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department.
Director Vicky Lautner says their youth performance training class is for those younger student-athletes that will learn how to increase movement, agility, strength and injury prevention. There will be two sessions for 4th through 12 graders. From 7 to 8:15am will be 8th through 12th graders and from 8:30 to 9:30am will be 4th through 7th graders. The program is from June 20th through July 29th. The cost to participate is $120 and space is limited.
Another unique program will allow six through eleven year-olds to learn and prepare healthy snacks. The Pre-Sous Chefs program is sponsored by Hy-Vee and it will be from June 20th through 24th with two sessions. One is for six through eight year-olds from 1 to 2pm and the other session is from 2 to 3pm for nine through eleven year-olds. The cost is $20 and space is limited.
Both programs will be at the Greene County Community Center. Call 386-3412 or stop by the community center to sign up.
