In case you forgot or have procrastinated picking out that perfect gift for your father figure in time for Sunday’s holiday, there are plenty of options available locally.

Bob Wilson with the Perry Chamber says as always, it’s important to shop Perry first but the area businesses are also there in case you need something last minute.

“I was out at Graphics 2 U ordering some signs and got reminded of their awesome Bluejay material.  Some great hats for dad, there’s some awesome t-shirts, there’s even some sweatpants out there.  And then I was downtown the other afternoon and inside Mary Rose (Collection) they now have chocolates.  She has some great little gift boxes, one looks like a golf ball (and) one looks like a flip flop.  Go fill those up for dad, those are some unique opportunities to support local businesses, as well as give dad something fun.”

Wilson notes that there are also several gift options at places like Orscheln’s Farm and Home, Ace Hardware and Ben’s Five and Dime.  He says by supporting the local merchants, they will continue to be able to support area programs and causes that help better the quality of life in Perry.
