Local leaders are calling the third annual Bacoon Ride, on the Raccoon River Valley Trail, a major success.

Perry Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Bob Wilson estimates 3,000 cyclists came to town as part of Bacoon Ride Tr3s Saturday.

He adds the weather was perfect for the ride, and large events like this one on the trail give communities the opportunity to showcase their amenities and services to a new audience.

Wilson says he heard many cyclists impressed with the activities offered in Perry.
