The Greene County High School baseball team is back in action tonight after not playing on Thursday. Coach Mark Sawhill’s team entered this week with just three wins on the season, but have three victories in three games this week to improve to 6-12 on the season and 3-8 in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference action. The week started with a 10-0 five inning victory in Jefferson over South Hamilton (Jewell) on Monday and was followed by a road win, 8-4, on Tuesday in Manson vs. Manson-Northwest Webster. Wednesday night saw the Rams win 12-4 over Nevada for the third straight win.
The Rams host Gilbert tonight on KG98 and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com in Jefferson at Allensworth Field. Coverage starting at 7:10 p.m. with first pitch scheduled for 7:30 p.m. The Tigers won 8-7 in Gilbert in the first meeting by scoring a run in the bottom of the seventh.
