A reminder to Perry residents, property owners are responsible for making sure trees are trimmed properly.

City code states that all threes on or overhanging the street need to be trimmed short enough to allow vehicles and pedestrians to pass underneath them freely.  Additionally, the branches cannot obstruct or shade street lights, the vision of traffic signs or lights or the view of any street intersection.

The lowest part of a tree over a sidewalk needs to be at least nine feet above the surface and branches over the roadway need to be at least 13 feet above the street.
