Greene County won two of three games on Saturday at the South Hamilton softball tournament and the team climbed over the .500 mark at 13-12 overall. The wins were over South Hardin (Eldora) by a 15-7 score, and 6-0 against Iowa Falls-Alden. The loss was 6-3 to Interstate 35 (Truro). All three games were five innings in length due to time limits.

The Rams scored four in both the first and seconds innings, one in the third and six in the fourth vs. SH. Hannah Promes was the winning pitcher with Jenna Beyers throwing the last inning. Promes allowed three runs, all earned, and Beyers gave up four runs, two of which were earned. The Rams had six hits with an inside-the-park homer by Carleigh Paup, who also doubled and singled. Sydney Koch had a double and single, and Beyers singled. Paup had three runs driven in with one RBI each for Koch, Promes, Megan Durbin, and Lyons. Both teams were charged with four errors.

Against I-35, Promes took the loss, allowing four runs, two earned, in 1-1/3 innings. Beyers went 2-2/3 innings allowed two runs and both were earned. Both team had five hits with Greene County getting another inside-the-park homer from Paup and she had the only two runs batted in for the Rams. Megan Carey , Koch, Promes, and Faith Davis each singled once.

The win over IF-A saw Promes throw five shut out innings for the win. She gave up three hits and no walks while striking out two. The Rams had 10 hits with a triple and single by Paup, and Durbin getting a double and two singles. Promes singled twice while Beyers had a double, with singles from Koch, and Lyons. Beyers drove in two runs with one RBI each from Koch, Durbin, and Lyons.

Greene County plays North Polk Monday night in Alleman.
