Friday, June 24th

A deputy was requested for traffic control on 220th Street and D Avenue for a funeral escort to the Scranton Cemetery.

The Chief Deputy Sheriff assisted a Jefferson Police Officer with checking an alarm activation at the Casey’s General Store North, in Jefferson. It was determined to be an accidental employee activation.

A deputy assisted a Jefferson Police Officer with locating three small kittens that were reported to be abandoned at a residence in the 300 block of South Pinet Street in Jefferson.

Two deputies were dispatched to a verbal domestic altercation at the Squirrel Hollow Shelter House. The altercation was resolved without further incident.

A deputy was out of position and unable to locate a reported erratic driver westbound on Highway 30 near Scranton.

Saturday, June 25th

A deputy was advised of a possible assault that occurred at the bar in Scranton.

A deputy assisted a Jefferson Police Officer with trying to locate a juvenile female that had left her home after a family altercation. The juvenile was located by a parent and found to be safe.

A deputy was dispatched for a noise concern in the 400 block of Lincoln Street in Scranton.

A deputy was dispatched to the 800 block of Percival Street in Grand Junction for a theft report of tools being taken from a residence in the 300 block of Howard Street in Rippey.

A deputy was unable to locate a reported suspicious vehicle in the 2300 block of V Avenue.

A deputy assisted the driver of a vehicle that had run out of gas at 190 th Street and N Avenue.

Deputies were asked to provide extra patrol in the 1200 block of Orchard Avenue for vehicles possible parking along the roadway.

Sunday, June 26th

A deputy was dispatched to Grand Junction to try and locate a vehicle that was displaying red/ blue flashing lights within the grill of the SUV.

A deputy was dispatched to the 800 block of Jay Street in Churdan for a reported fight in progress. After the deputy’s arrival and investigation, Robert Earl Rivers Sr. 55, of Fort Dodge was arrested and transported to the Greene County Law Enforcement Center for Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon.

A Jefferson Police Officer and a Boone County Deputy assisted with checking a residence in the 1000 block of Main Street in Grand Junction, while the duty deputy was on the previous call in Churdan. The residence in Grand Junction was found to be secure.

The Sheriff was dispatched to the 1000 block of Sand Street in Churdan to help mediate a verbal domestic altercation.

A deputy will be charging two more adult male subjects for Interference With Official Acts relating to the previous fight and arrest in Churdan.

A deputy was advised of a trespassing and criminal mischief concern in the 300 block of Howard Street in Rippey.

A deputy was dispatched to the 1000 block of Main Street East in Grand Junction to check the welfare of the female resident. The deputy found everything to be in order.

A deputy was dispatched to the 2000 block of 100th Street to mediate a verbal domestic altercation. The situation was resolved without incident.

A deputy was advised of an abandoned vehicle with no plate registration in the ditch on Highway 25 and Molton Street in Scranton. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
