As we’ve reported, Guthrie County Deputy Kent Gries was the recipient of an Iowa Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau Law Enforcement Award, in April.
Additionally, he’s recently been recognized for his work by the United States House of Representatives on behalf of Congressman David Young, and Iowa House of Representatives on behalf of State Representative Clel Baudler.
Both legislative bodies acknowledged Gries’s efforts in cracking down on drug and alcohol impaired drivers, and effectively serving his community.
Gries tells Raccoon Valley Radio that he was honored to be further recognized for his efforts. “I was very honored that each man took the time to recognize me. I enjoy my job and enjoy the people I work with. I feel blessed to come to work every day and serve the citizens of Guthrie County.”

He adds the awards show that both Representatives Young and Baudler have great appreciation for law enforcement. “I have great respect for Congressman Young and Representative Baudler and what they’re trying accomplish in their respective political arenas. I feel their recognition of me is indicative of their respect for law and order and the law enforcement community as a whole.”
