It was a much anticipated rematch last night as the ADM Lady Tiger softball team took the short drive to Dallas Center to take on the Fillies.

The first match up between these two would end in a 10-0 victory for the Lady Tigers in 5 innings but last night’s match up would take all of 7 full innings to decide a victor.

It would be a pitchers dual through four innings of work with just one hit in the game as Allie Boender for the Fillies had 8 strikeouts through four innings while ADM’s Molly Jacobsen tossed 9 strikeouts through 4 innings.

The real offensive action would pick up in the top of the fifth inning after a walk and a sacrifice bunt, Lexi Wyant would step up to the plate and earn her sixth RBI of the season off of a single to right center field which would score Emma Jacobsen from second base. The inning continued after Shannon Jones’s single turned double left runners at second and third when a wild pitch allowed a run to score to increase the lead now 2-0.

The Fillies would cut that lead in half scoring one in the bottom of the sixth inning after a bunt single turned triple by Rachel Lowary who was brought home by a sacrifice fly from Brooke Kramer.

The Lady Tigers were able to cushion their lead in the top of the seventh despite not recording a hit in the innings as Boender allowed six free passes via walks in the half inning; three of those walks came with bases loaded as ADM saw their lead increase now 5-1. The Fillies would render two more runs in their half of the seventh but would be unable to muster enough wins to top ADM as the Lady Tigers would take the victory and the season sweep of the Fillies by the final score of 5-3.

Bonder would get slapped with the loss tossing seven full innings surrendering just four hits for 5 earned runs, 11 walks, while tossing 10 strikeouts on the night. Molly Jacobsen would earn the win as she too went seven strong innings of work. She allowed three earned runs off of just three hits, allowing just three walks while earning one of her best strikeout nights fanning 15 Filly batters.

With the loss the Fillies now drop to 15-16 on the season while the Lady Tigers now improve to 28-4 on the season with the win.

Next up for the Lady Tigers will be another non conference road match up as they square up against Grand View Christian high school. The game originally scheduled for 7:30 pm tonight has been moved up to a first pitch start time of 5:30 pm
