Roland-Story completed the two-game season series sweep over Greene County when the Norsemen beat the Rams by a 9-2 score on Thursday night in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference baseball in Story City. Wade Adcock was the starting and losing pitcher. He gave up all nine runs and five were earned. Adcock gave up six hits and walked five while striking three batters out. Austin Delp threw an inning of relief allowing no runs on one hit and a walk. He fanned two batters.
The Rams only had three hits, all singles. Tom Gannon had two hits and Branden Miller one. The Greene County runs scored on a passed ball and a wild pitch.
The Rams scored twice in the fourth after trailing 3-0 early. It didn’t stay a one run game for long, however, as R-S kept the hits coming and the Norsemen scored four times in the fourth and added two more runs in the fifth. The Rams were charged with two errors and R-S had one. Greene County is 9-15 overall and 5-10 in conference play while R-S improved to 24-6 and 9-4.
