The ADM Tiger baseball team was looking to feast on Chariton in their Friday night contest last week as they took the long road trip.
The Tigers have had success against Chariton over the past three seasons and looked to keep the Chargers win less against RRC teams on the season. ADM played valiantly, however, it was not enough to defeat Chariton as the Chargers took the 4-2 victory over the Tigers.
Chariton managed to scrape across one run in both the first and second innings making it a 2-0 lead until Jack O’Brien tied it up with a two run double, bringing home the only runs of the contest for the Tigers. Chase Ritchie and Trey Volz were the only other ADM batters to record a hit throughout the entire contest. Volz did add to O’Brien’s big night with one of his own going a perfect 3-3 with three singles on the night.
Dalton Hews was looking to extend his number of good outings on the mound but couldn’t manage the night he had hoped for going 4 innings giving up 7 hits, 4 runs (3 of the earned), while tossing 4 strikeouts as well as being credited with the loss.
With the loss the Tigers have now seen their record drop to 3-22 on the season. They will make use of the holiday break and look for win number four on the season tomorrow when they welcome in Saydel high school to Tiger field for a non conference match up. First pitch between ADM and Saydel is slated for 7:30 pm.
