The 2017 fiscal year started Friday, which means Perry City Administrator Sven Peterson has been in his position for a full year now.

So how does he feel it has gone overall?  In one word, “interesting”.

“I’ve done a lot of growing professionally, personally, spiritually, but it really comes down to I have just an incredible group of people around me.  I’ve got the best employees I could ever ask for, I walked into an incredible team and I’m just purely blessed by that.  The City Council is great, they’re supportive, they’re progressive, they provide me with great feedback of what I’m doing and where we need to be going.  The mayor is great.  And really just the whole community has rallied behind me and what the city is doing and how we’re doing.”

Peterson says it feels like a lot has been done this past year and he feels there are a lot more positive things coming up in the next year, five years and ten years.
