Greene County finished second to Carroll at the 10-team Iowa West Swim Conference Meet in Guthrie Center on Saturday. Carroll had 312 points with 227.5 for Jefferson and 213 from Perry. Guthrie Center had 197 with 153 for Denison, 121.5 by Sac City , 120 for Coon Rapids, 54 from Manning, 52 for Lake City, and 44 for Glidden.

Jefferson won three relays and eight individual events. The 13-14 girls were unbeaten all season in the medley relay and freestyle relay. Ellie Madson, Sophie Havens, Megan Doran, and Julia Saul made up the quartet that won both relays. The 9-10 boys were a relay winner with Cody Allen, Gavin Scheuermann, Nathan Ausberger, and Jack Hansen. Gabe Schroeder and his older brother Nick both won four events. Gabe set a conference record in winning the long freestyle race, and he also placed first in the short freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke. Nick won both freestyle races, the backstroke, and IM (individual medley).
