Two Greene County residents were cited following an accident Thursday.
Greene County Sheriff Steve Haupert says a deputy, Churdan Rescue and Greene County Emergency Medical Services responded to the two vehicle crash at the intersection of Head and School streets in Churdan at 12:17pm.
70 year-old Colleen Kay Mackey of Churdan was heading west on School Street when she failed to yield at the yield sign and was hit by a southbound vehicle driven by 51 year-old Grace Marie Cozad of Jefferson. No air-bags deployed and Mackey wasn’t wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident. Both drivers were taken to Greene County Medical Center for further evaluation for non-life threatening injuries.
Mackey was cited for failure to obey a yield sign and Cozad was cited for driving with a suspended license and failure to provide proof of financial liability. Mackey’s vehicle was a total loss and Cozad’s vehicle sustained $4,500 in damages.
