The Heart of Iowa Activities Conference all-conference baseball selections can be released with State Tournament qualifier CMB’s (Maxwell) 3-2 loss in eight innings on Monday night in the Class 2A quarterfinals. All nine conference programs have now completed their 2016 seasons.
Greene County had senior shortstop Reid Lamoureux and sophomore catcher Tom Gannon on the first all-conference team and two others, senior Tyler Beger and freshman Austin Delp, on the honorable mention list.
Lamoureux hit a team best .462 for the 11-17 Rams with 14 runs batted in, a triple, and five doubles. Gannon batted .351 and also drove in 14. Beger had a .247 average with 16 RBI, and Delp hit .311 with 12 knocked in. Delp, a right handed pitcher, was 3-2 for the season with a .292 earned run average and a .245 opponent batting average in 36 innings.
Saydel (Des Moines) won the league title and the Eagles had four of the 13 first team selections.
