Former Perry basketball standout Claire Marburger is coming off an outstanding freshman year with Central College in Pella.  The former Jayette. and current Dutch star led the Dutch freshmen in scoring this year and is hoping to  build on the success not just as an individual but also on the team front as Pella looks to improve on their 4 win season from a year ago.

“The college game didn’t surprise me too much.  You know I mean I expected success for myself because I always like to think I’ll be successful.  But I was fortunate to break the freshman scoring record at Central so that was nice to get there and do it.  It was special for me because it was a record that stood for over thirty years so that was nice to do.  We only won four games last season so I had an individual goal this summer to do my part to increase that number this year. We’re looking to improve here the next few seasons because of our youth.”

Marburger spent the summer months working out here in Perry.
