droughtIt was a dry week here in the Raccoon River Valley.

According to the National Weather Service, Perry received 0.02 inch of rain since our last report while no precipitation fell in Guthrie Center.

So far this month, Perry has received eight inches of rain, or twice as much as the average.  Guthrie Center is behind the normal amount by four-tenths as they have received just over four inches.

Soil moisture conditions continue to improve.  Dallas and Greene counties are completely out of any sort of drought threat at this time, while the majority of Guthrie County with the exception of the northeast portion, continues to be abnormally dry.
