With the first official practices for fall sports less than a week away and the first official game for the ADM Tiger football team less than a month away, all eyes are on the progress of the ADM facilities upgrades.

It’s been a long haul for the facilities upgrades that started earlier this year with the upgrades to the baseball and softball lights all the way to the soon to be completed turf surface and upgraded track surface. It’s been a long process that’s added a few changes to the landscape as stated by ADM activities director Reece Satre as he went through a brief overview from the start of phase one up to this point.

“From 10,000 feet, we started our outdoor facilities improvement project with phase one back about early April. Phase one has included the instillation of new baseball and softball lights which were completed in time for those seasons which has been fantastic. All summer long they’ve been up at the stadium going through and we’ve moved a bunch of dirt and we’ve been doing a widening of the facility to accommodate more of a regulation size soccer surface and increasing the track size,” stated Satre.

Despite several weather related delays, the facilities upgrades are currently still on track to be completed before the first football game. Reece spoke with Raccoon Valley Radio on the current state of the phase one upgrades and their goal for completion date.

” Currently they are finishing up the turf at this point in time. With the track, they just laid the second coat of asphalt and that will sit for 21-30 days before they can come back in and put the track surface on which will be a red color. Then they will be installing the fence and scoreboard as well soon. Working very hard to make sure that we hit that date in time for the first home football game,” explained Reece.

ADM’s first chance to utilize the new upgrades will indeed be the first football game which is set to kick off in week number two against the Ballard Bombers.
