20160804_090727_224The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met Thursday.

The Board approved awarding Gus Construction, of Casey, the contract to complete a county-wide pavement patching project. County Engineer Josh Sebern says the bid for the project came in below his estimate, which is a good deal for County taxpayers.

The majority of the patching work will take place on P28 south of Panora, F32, also known as Wichita Road, F63, which connects Highway 25 to the Adair Shortcut, P32, which connects White Pole Road to Diamondhead Lake and Montieth Road.

Additionally, Sebern says the County is purchasing about 1/5th of an acre of right of way to complete a different project in the southern portion of the County. “This is on the south side of the road, for the Beaver 33/Menlo Dump Bridge project. It’s costing us about $3,800 to purchase the right of way and temporary construction easement, plus fencing, 12 fencing rods and a gate.”

The Supervisors approved the plan as presented.
