An annual ride in honor of a local fallen marine takes place this weekend.

The sixth Josh Davis Memorial Poker Run will take off from the Perry Elks Club at 10:30am Saturday.  The 165 mile route will lead riders to the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, Sports Page in Winterset, the Creston Elks Lodge, Dexter American Legion and back to Perry where there will be a meal, live auction, 50/50 drawing and poker hand drawing.

Registration and check-in starts at 8am and the Perry High School junior class will be serving breakfast as a fundraiser for prom.

Day of sign-up includes a poker hand and meal for $15.

All proceeds from the event go to support the Josh Davis Award, upkeep to the Josh Davis plaza and veterans’ charities.
