The 2016 cash rental rates are out for Greene County.

According to data from Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, Greene County continues to see a decline in overall cash rent per acre for corn and soybean. The average is at $229 per acre, down from $252 a year ago. The highest third is $259, the middle third is $229 and the lowest third is $200 per acre.

As for the West Central region that the County is in, prices continue to decline from $265 per acre last year to $245 this year.  Greene County is slightly under the state’s average of $230 per acre.

There were 15 responses from crop producers in the County involved in the survey.
