The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors approved a bid for transfer station scales at their Thursday meeting.
Scale, Sales and Service, of Omaha, will provide a Rice Lake brand scale at a cost of $105,750.
Sales representative Jake Kleine says the Rice Lake scale is of higher quality than another scale the Board was considering. “The B-Tek scale is always going to be cheaper than a Rice Lake scale — that’s just the way it’s manufactured. There’s a lot more steel in a Rice Lake scale, which is the one that I bid.”
The scale can be delivered within the next two or three weeks.
