Everyone is invited to join the Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce, the Raccoon Valley Radio Big Red Radio and community members in helping prepare to serve lots of sweet corn tonight.
“The Chamber provides free sweet corn from 11am until the corn is gone. We do seven tons of sweet corn a year. We cook it and serve it so you can stand in line and get as much as you want.”
Chamber Director Deb Bengston says the corn shucking event the night before the Adel Sweet Corn Festival has become an event in itself.
The volunteer event takes place on 10th Street south of Main Street starting at 5pm. Beverages will be served and our Big Red Radio will be providing tunes.
Additionally, Hopkins and Huebner P.C. is hosting a Sweet Corn Festival Barbecue this afternoon.
Brats, burgers, chips and beverages will be served in their parking lot at 1009 Main Street from 3-6pm.
