A Jefferson man faces a felony drug charge for a June incident.
Police Chief Mark Clouse says arrest warrants have been issued for 40 year-old Joe Edward Blackmon for a Class D Felony for his third or subsequent offense for possession of meth and a simple misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia.
The charges stem from an executed search warrant on June 10th at a rental property in the 400 block of East Vest Street. Clouse says they recovered multiple smoking devices with possible narcotic residue. He points out that anytime there is residue on a smoking device and test results from the Criminalistics Laboratory in Ankeny comes back positive for drugs, then they can charge an individual with possession of a controlled substance.
Once in custody, Blackmon will be booked into the Greene County jail.
