Troy McGeeA Fort Dodge man faces several charges following a high speed chase that ended in Jefferson.

Police Chief Mark Clouse says at 3:22am on Saturday, an officer was alerted by a Greene County Deputy that he was pursuing a vehicle that was heading south on N Avenue toward Jefferson. The officer had his vehicle near Wild Rose Casino and clocked the suspect’s vehicle at 99 miles per hour, as it reached the City limits.

Clouse says the suspect then blacked out the vehicle’s lights about one-half mile north of the casino as he turned into the parking lot. The officer turned his patrol vehicle’s lights on and followed. The male driver then fled on foot and ran north of the casino. The officer and deputy lost sight of the subject. During the foot chase, the suspect dropped a bag of what was believed to be marijuana. About three hours later, officers were advised from casino personnel that the suspect was inside the casino. He was subsequently arrested there. When the suspect was being arrested, officers found a bag with about 15 grams of meth on him as well.

Forty-seven year-old Troy Angelo McGee of Fort Dodge is charged with a Class B Felony for possession of meth of over five grams with intent to deliver, a Class D Felony for eluding while participating in a felony, an aggravated misdemeanor for third or subsequent possession of marijuana and a simple misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also cited for excessive speed of 99 miles per hour in a 55 miles per hour zone.

He was booked and remains in the Greene County jail under a $25,000 bond.
