The second annual Boo Hoo Scarecrow Contest will return to Guthrie Center this fall.
Main Street Director Julie Bailey hopes the entire downtown is filled with scarecrows. “We’re going to encourage all of the businesses in downtown Guthrie Center to have an entry into the contest, and to get really creative with their entries. The scarecrow can be on the sidewalk, or in their window. The contest will be judged, and we’ll be starting a travelling trophy.”
Creative Hands won the inaugural contest last year. Businesses still have a few weeks to plan a scarecrow, as Bailey expects them to be on display by early October.
