The 2016 season for ADM Tiger football will bring more than just a new field and a new season, it will bring fourth a new quarterback at the helm.
As we’ve reported, the history of quarterback success at ADM high school runs deep and is always a key piece to a successful season puzzle. Throughout the entire first week of practices head football coach Mike Whisner has been hard at work finding the man under center to lead the Tigers into their first game of the season against Dallas Center-Grimes.
With the first game just a day away, coach Whisner has narrowed down the field to two individuals; which will bring about a tough decision as both are deserving as coach Whisner told Raccoon Valley Radio.
“We have two young men vying for the position-Sam McCartney who’s a senior and Matthew West who’s a junior. We’ve had some pretty good practices up to this point and we’re looking forward to the first game and I think both these guys have what it takes,” stated coach Whisner.
Whoever the final decision for the nod at quarterback will be, the Tiger football team along with fans will be looking for him to revive the Tiger passing attack after a down year. The ADM football world will look for the new man under center to improve a passing attack that went from 8th in completion percentage in class 3A in 2014 to 13th in 2015 and 2nd in passing yards during the 2014 season to 30th last season.
The hunt for the new ADM quarterback nears its final end as the Tigers near their first game this Friday. Stay tuned to Raccoon Valley Radio for all the updates and information regarding ADM Tiger football this season on air and online at raccoonvalleyradio.com.
