Those who want to vote early on the proposed $19.4 million bond referendum and school board election for Greene County Schools can do so now.
The Greene County Auditor’s office says absentee ballots are now available for the September 13th special election. Those who have previously filled out a request for an absentee ballot will get one mailed to you.
Additionally, two candidates are running to fill a vacancy on the school board. Mike Dennhardt of Rippey was pointed by the Board to fill Susan Burkett’s seat in January. Dennhardt is running with Jonathon Hinote from Jefferson for the at-large seat.
Absentee ballots will be accepted at the Auditor’s office until 5pm on Monday, September 12th. Anyone wishing to have an absentee ballot mailed to them, must fill out a request form first and the last day for ballots to be mailed out is by Friday, September 9th.
Polling locations for the September 13th election include Clover Hall for Jefferson residents, St. Brigid’s Parish Center for Grand Junction voters, the community center and library in Rippey and at city hall in Scranton.
Polls will be open from 7am to 8pm.
