The ADM football Tigers were looking for a rematch win to start their 2016 season last Friday.

The Tigers took on preseason ranked Dallas Center-Grimes in a week three match up from last season where DC-G beat ADM 35-7. While last Friday’s match up was an improvement for the Tigers, it still wasn’t enough to beat the Mustangs dropping their first game of the season 35-12. While both teams had new quarterbacks at the helm it was DC-G’s junior Damon Clapper who had more success throwing for 3 touchdowns against a normally sound ADM defense while Mustang running back Nathan Brown rushed for two scores and caught one through the air.

The Mustangs led at the half 21-0 but the Tigers stormed back scoring all 12 of their points in the second half. Both scores were on the ground including Matthew Dobrzynski’s 55 yard scamper up the middle in the later stages of the third quarter. The Tigers had their first extra point blocked and were thwarted on a two point conversion on the Dobrzynski score.

Two great drives by the ADM offense were halted thanks to two interceptions by DC-G’s Trey Washington, once in the end zone and once near midfield where the Mustangs eventually capitalized for touchdowns.

Unfortunately when the fourth quarter ended the Tigers were on the unfavorable end of a 35-12 score meaning they would start their season 0-1. The Tigers will have a great chance to rebound when they unveil their new stadium with turf surface taking on the Ballard Bombers for their 2016 home opener. The Tigers will be squaring off against Bombers this Friday where K107.9FM and raccoonvalleyradio.com will have pregame coverage beginning at 7:00 followed by kick off at 7:30 pm.
