A severe thunderstorm warning briefly affected portions of Greene and Guthrie counties Sunday evening.

Raccoon Valley Radio’s Severe Weather Action Team sprung into action at 5:11 p.m. and remained on the air until the warnings were allowed to expire at 5:32 p.m. Four team members were on-air, or in touch with Weather Eye meteorologists, local law enforcement and emergency management coordinators to gather current information about the storm.

The main radar-indicated hazards of this storm were potential 60 mile per hour wind gusts and hail, though law enforcement in Greene County reported no damage, and Guthrie County Emergency Management Coordinator Bob Kempf says heavy rain made up most of this brief storm.
