GUTHRIE SHERIFF'SAs we’ve reported, the Guthrie County Sheriff’s office continues to focus on making the courthouse more secure.

Sheriff Marty Arganbright says they recently replaced the door at the courthouse that leads to the Sheriff’s office, with a more high-tech and secure one. “It was just time to replace the other door. It was worn out. Sometimes in the winter it would not shut. The new one has different ways to get in, including fobs that deputies can use to get in and that won’t bother the dispatchers to let us in.”

The Sheriff’s office is also replacing all of the surveillance cameras in the courthouse. “We’re getting better quality cameras so that if we ever have to go back and look at footage, it will be clearer to watch.”

Additional parts of the courthouse security plan could someday include allowing just one entrance into the building, and having an officer staffing a metal detector at that entrance.
