There are always line up questions as teams head into their first few weeks of competitive play and the ADM Lady Tiger volleyball team has certainly encountered those same questions.

It’s been quite the task for head volleyball coach Mary Beth Scott to configure the best line up possible but as week number two of competitive action rolls along coach Scott finds her line up conundrum slowly resolving itself. One more piece to the puzzle has seemed to fall into place as junior Jordan Hook has quickly overcome her sophomore learning curve, making significant contributions to the Lady Tiger winning cause. Hook is an athlete of many talents on the hardwood but as coach Scott told Raccoon Valley Radio, it’s more of a facilitator role that the junior seems to have found home.

“Jordan at this point we’ve kept at libero. Jordan just does such a great job passing, moving on the court, (and) her serves are pretty lethal so we definitely want to keep her back there feeding the hitters. That was a decision whether to have Jordan hit or to have her pass. It’s hard to have your hitters attack the ball if the pass isn’t getting there and that’s why we’ve decided to put Jordan back at that Libero position and she’s a good fit there,” explained coach Scott.

Hook has come out very strong in the early goings of the season accounting for over 16% of the total teams’ serves while leading the team in digs with 58. More chances for Jordan to increase her totals arrive this afternoon as the Lady Tigers host their annual volleyball invitation laying host to the likes of Knoxville, Nevada, Norwalk, Woodward Granger, and fellow Raccoon River Conference rival Perry. The invitational will get kicked off this afternoon beginning at 4:15 pm.
