It’s week two of the high school football season and Greene County is on the road for the second straight week. After losing 34-0 in Carroll to Class 2A Kuemper Catholic last night, Coach Dean Lansman’s Rams go southwest to Harlan tonight to face the Cyclones, who are also 0-1 after losing in Council Bluffs to Class 4A Lewis Central.

No Iowa high school football program has more State titles to its name than Harlan, but Coach Lansman told Raccoon Valley Radio his team won’t back down from Harlan or the other teams on what looks on paper like a very difficult schedule. “You’ve got to line up and play. It’s not like you can say we’re going to take this week off. In the game of football it’s an opportunity and like we always tell the boys, ‘You get one chance to play high school football in your life, so you want to go out and write your own storybook and make history!'”

Football coverage starts on KG98 and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com at 6:30 p.m. with kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
