20160830_100238_390Guthrie County Public Health is battling increasing utility costs.

Director Jotham Arber recently told the Board of Supervisors that due to some changes at their office, their electric bill has doubled in recent months. “The last month, our bill was $741. Just recently we had Genesis Development come into the office, in the back of it. That’s fine, and we fully support developmental services in the county, because they’re important. The problem is, we pay 75% of this bill and the County pays 25%. When Genesis uses more electricity and they leave their air conditioner on, leave their lights on and are there all hours of the night, it jacks the bill up.”
County representatives plan to meet with Genesis to see if there’s any steps that can be taken to decrease electricity usage.
