Whether you’re on a team or not, everyone is invited to take part in the Northern Dallas County Relay for Life event Saturday in Perry.
American Cancer Society Relay for Life Community Manager Katie Knudsen says the event is a celebration and a fight.
“Relay for Life is a great opportunity for the whole family to come out and make a difference in the fight against cancer. We know that the reality is in today’s society everyone is effected by this horrible disease. So it’s a place to celebrate the lives of our cancer survivors, remember those who have lost their lives and also fight back because cancer is effecting us every day.”
There are several things planned for the day long event including a presentation from oncologist and Above + Beyond Cancer founder Dr. Richard Deming, dance performances, games, memorial laps, bingo, football, a frozen t-shirt contest, live music and the popular luminaria ceremony.
It starts with registration at 10am at the Perry High School track and continues until 10pm.
